Alternatively, you can omit this suffix entirely when naming artifact suffixes:
<format>'v'yyyyMMdd-HHmm'-${BUILD_ALIAS}'</format>

<BUILD_ALIAS>SNAPSHOT</BUILD_ALIAS>
If that changes to Beta2, then the suffix on the jars will change accordingly.
