Build locally in ~/trunk/product/ folder, then fire up nanohttpd (or some other webserver)
and launch JBDS like this:
$ ./jbdevstudio -vmargs
-Djboss.discovery.directory.url=http://localhost:8080/product/site/target/site/devstudio-directory.xml
Result is installable git connector:

Installation of EGit through JBoss Central says "The following connectors are not
available: Eclipse EGit"
EGit isn't even on extras site.
