I cannot reproduce it with the latest code in trunk. I have tried CDI beans, JSF 2 managed
beans, Seam 2 components.
Just in case, is method getId() in your example public?

Looks like a regression after the latest nightly.
Opportunity extends SObject
SObject has method/field getId() but EL does not provide this as a suggestion and
validation shows error.
