Andre Dietisheim commented on JBIDE-7142:
-----------------------------------------
looks like the Firefox Browser may indicate the linux distribution and version:
ex. for fedora:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080612
Fedora/2.0.0.14-20080612.fc8.acer Firefox/2.0.0.14
Unfortunately I can't see any reliable strategy to get the linux distro by java system
properties.
The most appropriate strategy to detect the distro is AFAIK the /etc/XX-release file:
http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/11251.html
usage reporting should report linux versions
