Dima Geraskov commented on JBIDE-1178:
--------------------------------------
Just be aware that today users can go and rerun and/or copy/edit the
generated console configuration...just something to be aware off.
Our code rebuild
console configuration when runs launch configuration.
I didn't find a way rerun launch configuration.
it's tricky...kinda require we get the dTP connection support in
there.
For now just add a warning when running it.
I think we don't need supporting dTP connection but only filter our console
configuration by connection url (this is just a string). This get our the confidence in
the using right database (of course we can have different logins here(and rights as
consequence), but I think this is not a problem).
hmm...maybe we should turn this around...e.g. add a "Select
tables" to the Seam Generate Entities that allows you to use DTP table browser based
on the connection information in the selected console configuration ?
We can do it. But in the case user can have console configurations with connections to
DB1, DB2 and DTP connection to DB3. When he press "Generate Seam Entities" in
DTP Table Browser context menu(on the DB3 tables) he will haven't possibility to
select the tables in our wizard (as we haven't console config with connection to
DB3).
Selective "Seam Generate Entities"

Key: JBIDE-1178
URL:
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBIDE-1178
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Hibernate, Seam
Reporter: Gavin King
Assigned To: Dima Geraskov
Fix For: 2.1
Attachments: scr1.PNG, scr2.PNG, scr3.PNG, scr4.PNG, scr5.PNG, SGE.PNG, SGE2.PNG
We should be able to select exactly which tables we want to generate entities for.
Hibernate Tools already has this functionality, should just be a matter of proper
integration.
