The plugin that seems to be loading has 3 Eclipse extensions for 2 Eclipse extension
points:
org.eclipse.core.resources.natures
org.eclipse.core.resources.builders
Since the stack trace points to trying to load the
"com.metamatrix.modeler.internal.core.builder.ModelBuilder" class, it's
probably that one. So if you can reproduce this without launching any of Teiid stuff
through an action, then maybe another plugin is trying to manage/load the
"builders" by hand? maybe it's Eclipse, maybe not. :(

1) Install JBDS
2) Open new workspace
3) Open Teiid Project Example (Help -> Project Examples -> Teiid -> Parts Model
Project Set Example
4) Open Teiid Perspective
5) Close JBDS
6) Open JBDS
* you will notice that JBDS will never prompt for workspace selection on startup
* In some cases it was even unable to start JBDS and I had to reinstall the whole JBDS
