Lukas Jungmann commented on JBIDE-6253:
---------------------------------------
nice work
from screenshots, it's not clear if:
-user can easily edit added request header(s)
-user can paste (ctrl+v) some text into the request body text area
-user can beautify xml/text in request body text area
-response xml is beautified by default (w/ enabled/disabled line wraping)
-user can copy (ctrl+c) response from the text area to a clipboard
-Service URL text field remembers last n (10?) invoked services in current IDE session
must have's (IMO):
-response header's tab
-PUT & DELETE support for JAX-RS
-BASIC auth support, ie. for testing services requiring authentication
nice to have:
-being able to load/save request/response body to/from external file
-a browse button next to the Service URL text field which would open up a dialog with a
list of JAX-WS/JAX-RS services available in current workspace
...you mentioned "Set Sample Data" button won't be in the final version -
does the same apply to "content is xml" checkbox? I'd say it should go away
as well since this is something what should be set by the user through Content-Type HTTP
header
Need a web service tester (JAX-WS and JAX-RS) in the tooling

Key: JBIDE-6253
URL:
https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBIDE-6253
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Webservices
Affects Versions: 3.2.next
Reporter: Brian Fitzpatrick
Assignee: Brian Fitzpatrick
Fix For: 3.2.next
Attachments: web_service_tester_jaxrs_050410.jpg,

Original Estimate: 0 minutes
Remaining Estimate: 0 minutes
Though there are testing facilities for web services available in Eclipse, such as the
Web Services Explorer (doesn't support JAX-RS) and soapUI (3rd party tool), there has
been a call for some rudimentary testing facilities within our tooling as well.
This tooling should:
* Test invoking a JAX-WS service with an incoming SOAP document and show the results
* Test invoking a JAX-RS service (GET or POST) and show the results
