Does the same problem exist for other https-based update sites? Would you expect a better
error message, or that install would work even if the SSL check fails due to innalud date
verification?

If the date in your OS is behind the real date then it is not possible to access
https://devstudio.redhat.com/updates/8.0/
via installation wizard in Eclipse IDE. See the attached SSLHandshakeException. If you
fix the date then it works as expected.
