Max Andersen reopened JBDS-942:
-------------------------------
Assignee: Snjezana Peco (was: Dominik Pospisil)
Reopening this since i've now found a way to reproduce it or at least similar behavior
for JBDS 3.
When I start JBDS, the first 10-15 minutes seem to run perfectly fine but after a while
changing perspectives becomes slower and slower. In the beginning perspectives switches
instantly; now it can take up till 5-10 seconds and the cpu meter is not showing anything
is really being done.
I tried it several times yesterday preparing and doing the webinar. Restarting JBDS
brought it back to beeing speedy.
The things I do is basically to have SOA-P running in debug mode in the background and
have the VPE editor open - I think one of those two are somehow causing delays in Eclipse.
Haven't pinpointed which yet.
Snjezana, you said you wanted to take a look - be my guest since this one is *really*
annyoing ;)
JBDS 2.1 GA on a Mac performs very slowly
-----------------------------------------
Key: JBDS-942
URL:
https://jira.jboss.org/browse/JBDS-942
Project: Developer Studio (JBoss Developer Studio)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: integration
Affects Versions: 2.1.0, 3.0.1.GA
Environment: Mac with Snow Leopard
Reporter: Jim Tyrrell
Assignee: Snjezana Peco
Fix For: 4.0.0.Beta1
Starting the embedded EAP 5 instance included in the JBDS 2.1 build
jbdevstudio-eap-macosx-carbon-2.1.0.v200909250150R-H168-GA.jar takes a long time. About 1
minute once, and mostly 3-5 mins. It does not seem to change or become different based on
the number of other applications I have running. Double clicking on a .xhtml file and
bringing up the embedded two paned JSF editor also can take minutes to come up. Shutting
down the embedded EAP server, or closing out of eclipse can take minutes. I have also
experienced 3-4 crashes in about 5-6 times running this and can not seem to isolate it to
a specific set of actions. I have run a version on Linux and do not experience any of the
same symptoms as noted above. Wondering out loud if JDK 6 on Snow Leopard is not
something that would be recommended or creates some of these gremlins.
