Gary, I dont think this is limited to Portal - can you confirm that you are seeing the
same problems on non-EPP ?
i.e. this is an inherent problem with the productized products - they are not setup by
default to allow remote deployment/configuration.

the default location (.metadata/.plugins/org.jboss.ide.eclipse.as.core/) will not work
for Seam Portal applications.
Customers need to go in and change this to the server deploy folder.
