Snjezana Peco commented on JBIDE-10652:

> "We could also show tutorials in a scroll pane and add the
"priority" tag."
not sure what that means ?
Something like the following:
!jbide-10652.png!
We could also add the priority tag to the category.xml (JBIDE-10658) and project examples
xml file. Poject examples would be sorted by category priority and by project example
priority within a category. JBoss Central worked this way in JBT 3.3.0.M5/JBDS 5.0.0.M5,
but was broken by fixing JBIDE-10641. I propose that we bring back the priority property
to the categories and project examples.
In order to see other categories/project examples, the user would use the scrollbar.
not yet. once we are ready to consume such they will. i.e. we should
take the existing quickstarts and try add projectexamples.xml to them
(now that we support relative files) and see what happens when we import them.
note - this doens't really relate to this issue though, does it ?
We, somehow, have to specify where the quickstarts zip/directory/xml file is placed. Where
will be 30 planned quickstarts placed? I suppose the Project Example engine would have to
scan some directory/file within a JBoss AS server - $JBOSS_AS_HOME/quickstarts, for
instance.
Quickstarts "carousel" idea to scale the list of
quickstarts

Key: JBIDE-10652
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-10652
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Bug
Components: central
Reporter: Max Rydahl Andersen
Assignee: Snjezana Peco
Priority: Critical
Fix For: 3.3.0.Beta1
There are many quickstarts (we got ~7 but there are 30 planned) - should find a way to
make this scale in the ui.
Two options:
1) The full dynamic solution where the client iterates "top 15" 5 of
the time.
2) The simple solution where we just update the server side content to
"refresh" content.
#2 is adding a "jbosscentral_quickstart" tag which only will be applied to 7 or
so at one time.
