The problem with the progress dialog is that I validate the URI as you type it. If I pop up a progress dialog, that gets really clunky (more than it already is). That said, I've got some code in there now that does pop up a progress dialog occasionally (like when you select a URL from the WSDL Browse dialog). If it works for you, go ahead and resolve this.
