I have reproduced it again.
I am using SOA-P 4.3 CP3 and 3.2.0. JBDS 4.0.0Beta2 (v201012070137R-H33-Beta2)
And I just clean my workspace, go to JBoss Tools Runtimes preferences and add SOA using
"Search' button, create new drools project, select all examples, select 4.x
runtime version for runtime compatibility and it is.

This is an error in the error log that the plugin cannot parse the example.
The reason is that the Drools plugin (5.0+) does not directly support Drools 4.x
ruleflows.
Note that the Drools runtimes still allow you to execute Drools 4.x ruleflows,
but they cannot be edited by the plugin (though we can auto-convert them to Drools 5.x
format).
To remove this error message, I could use the auto-convert when validating Drools 4.x
ruleflows.
Note however that you still wouldn't be able to edit a Drools 4.x ruleflow though
(without converting it to 5.x format).

Max, I agree, we could even successfully validate the previous versions by first invoking
the auto-upgrader and then validating the result (so the error disappears and you get
meaningful validation errors). I'll try to fix it like this.
By the way, we do try to support previous versions as much as possible, it was decided to
not try to do this backwards in time though, when doing Drools5, due to resource
limitations.
