Jim Tyrrell commented on JBIDE-6083:
------------------------------------
The problem with the method presented is for every file I open I have to do this, open my
file, open it again, drag the sliders around etc. For 100s of source files that one might
edit in a day this is a tremendous drag on productivity. I would also add that this
requirement came from me watching a customer open the two paned editor with two monitors
and ask can I put these side by side. In other words since most monitors are landscape
and people are starting to have more then one of these on a desk side by side as a
possible way for development makes more sense then top and bottom. Hopefully this makes
sense. As for as possibilities in other software, Microsoft Word supports a side by side
viewing, I feel like I have seen some adobe products do this, but I can not remember which
one. Hopefully this can hit a PRD and scheduled for inclusion.

Key: JBIDE-6083
URL:
https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBIDE-6083
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Visual Page Editor core
Affects Versions: 3.1.0.GA
Environment: All
Reporter: Jim Tyrrell
Assignee: Maxim Areshkau
Fix For: 3.2.next
With the increasing use of multiple monitors at customer sites, it would be nice to be
able to have the two paned editor have the current top and bottom source vs wysiwyg
(almost) view, with a toggle button that allows these to be side by side instead of top to
bottom.
