I've attempted to fix this issue with the current Teiid build and can't find a
way. I've talked with the Teiid team about getting an Admin API jar that I can use to
build a plug-in abstracting the Admin operations, and they estimate that producing it will
require changes to more that 90 classes in order to produce an jar that contains no
implementation.
I'm not convinced that a change of that size is warranted at this late stage in the
EDS release. It will break any code that uses the existing Admin connection and will not
prepare us for the next Teiid release as the operations of the Admin are expected to
change. I suggest we delay this change until a later release when the Admin API has
settled down.

Just to clarify what I mean is that there are approximately 90 non-admin api (interface)
classes in the client jar. That is what would be factored out of Designer by this change.
The largest code change (and a breaking change) would be around the AdminFactory class
that is not properly designed for this style of api. A new interface will need to be
introduced with reflection/provider based loading of the actual factory impl.

The bug underlying this issue was that eclipse updates could break existing Teiid preview
connections. I've created JBIDE-7493 to cover that part of the issue.
The remaining part of this issue, that the Admin connections should be abstracted behind a
configurable runtime will be retargeted. While I still consider this a worthwhile goal,
implementing it as this time will not provide the long term benefits we want beyond what
we already have, such as compatibility with future versions of Teiid, and adds risk.
