Michelle Murray commented on TOOLSDOC-498:
------------------------------------------
[~mmalina], you are right that this is a generic beta text. It is used across many
middleware products and common text is used for simplicity and to ensure we are conveying
a consistent message.
True we don't audit our GA for security vulnerabilities but saying we don't audit
for Beta isn't actually inaccurate.
And the part about 'production environment' is actually valid. I know we often
think of production environments being servers but it has relevance here too. We're
saying you can use this beta version to have a play and see what's available but
don't get all your developers using it for actual work (aka production env.) as
it's only beta so features might not work/break or you might lose everything.
So I think all of the text does apply to JBDS. And given that we're aiming for a
consistent message across all products, I will leave it as it. But thanks for raising the
issue. It made me think and ensure that the text's use was justified. :)

JBDS 8.0.0.Beta2 release notes include this warning:
{quote}
This guide is for the beta release of the product. Beta releases are provided as a
preview of the software and are not supported in production. This beta release is provided
without security support. Red Hat has not audited the product for security
vulnerabilities, and known vulnerabilities may not be resolved in this release. Security
patches will not be provided for vulnerabilities that affect this release. This release
must not be used in a production environment, or any other security-sensitive
environment.
{quote}
It seems this is a generic message that we use in all our products. But it may need some
customization for JBDS.
