Max Rydahl Andersen commented on JBDS-3331:
-------------------------------------------
I think what makes sense to test here is two things:
A) can we install jboss tools and/or devstudio into the (default) Eclipse version provided
by RHEL ?
expected issues: are all the dependencies actually present? do they match up ?
B) can we install jboss tools and/or devstudio into the default eclipse version provided
by RHEL which *also* have the additional features of DTS installed regarding native
tooling.
My assumption is that if A is true B should also work.
Beyond that comes the question about our usage of p2 updatesite install mechanisms since
our updatesite will include different versions of eclipse dependencies (tools: plain
eclipse.org binaries rhel:rhel built eclipse dependencies)
And the jars used in the rhel instance will be the shared jar dependencies of rhel - thus
we might (in the worst case) experience different behavior and/or api differences.
We should test it to know the impact.
