look like the issue could be the same reason as JBIDE-8027 has, but I can't state this
exactly.
of cause it is interesting to get exact steps to reproduce, i.e. the situation where this
exception is constantly reproducible.
other possible reason is Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader() - i.e. imo
possible to get situation where Dialects loaded by different class loaders - so one
can't be cast to other.

Jiri, I try but can't reproduce the issue... I even replicate JBIDE-8027 when the
system was overloaded, but can't reproduce this issue... May be you can suggest some
other "secrets" how you reproduce the issue. In any case ConsoleConfiguration is
necessary to update to get it threads safe. There are some operations on CC which should
wait till others end it's work - so these changes are necessary. Also is necessary try
to reproduce the issue programmatically with junit test.

I made a research here. Now the code is dead. But my guess is to reproduce you had to use
Hiberante3.6 or Hiberante 4.0 or if to use jdbc jar which was compiled with newer Dialect
class. Anyway it should not appear again as the code is not called anymore.
