Does it work if you enable deployment of zipped files instead ? (doubleclick server, look
under deployment)
The thread dump just seem to be doing a rename of possibly many files so im not convinced
its frozen forever.
should ofcourse be figured out why you are seeing problems here.

We have ~1200 classes, 4 ejb, 1 web, 1 ear projects;
I haven't tried deployment of zipped files. We ended up creating a new JBoss AS
instance in WTP, scratched the old one. Hopefully, it finally deployed.
We had the same stacktrace for like 20min, before I killed everything, again.
I guess this one's gonna be hard to reproduce :-(

Well this is probably only part of the problem, but I did try to improve hte efficiency of
some of the module factories upstream.

Basically what it comes down to is that every workspace change causes the server view to
check for deltas, and all the module providers completely re-traverse their trees to
calculate the delta. However this members() call happens 2 or 3 times on every workspace
change, and up to 6 times during a publish.
I can't guarantee that's the blocker, but I'm sure caching that down to 15% of
what it is now should probably help quite a bit, no? I just committed it upstream so
unfortunately you probably won't see this one until summer.

After looking at the code a bit more, it's quite likely the rename was failing on
every single file. Each rename tries 10 times (was originally upstream code that we
coppied) and goes 100ms each one, so that could be up to one second per file. If you had
1200 files, that could be 1200 seconds, which would make it a 20 minute publish, so that
makes sense.
I'm going to migrate this but opened. If I can think of a better way to do this I
might get to work on it but ti doesn't seem to be highest priority right now.

They already are logged as warnings and errors appropriately. For example in
LocalPublishMethod it has the following lines:
if( result != null )
ServerLogger.getDefault().log(behaviour.getServer(), result);
The issue here is that if you're trying to publish 1000 files and each one takes 15
seconds, you wait the entire time before it logs anything (because it logs at the end of
hte publish).
If the renames are not going through, this should just CoreException out instead and
circumvent the attempt to continue publishing. I'll try to fix this.
