The 2 only issues that I can remember we had previously with CDI and Fuse Tooling was due to some corrupted jars and another one because some maven plugin was relying on CDI 1.0 instead of 2.0 but the error was quite different. For the example, it seems that it is using the template provided by Fuse Tooling, using https://github.com/jboss-fuse/quickstarts/tree/master/beginner/camel-cbr directly might not work as we are not testing it and it is not expected to import directly the project.
