After installing the nightly JBoss Tools nightly build on Eclipse 3.3 stable, updates are
prevented due to the following error:
org.jboss.ide.eclipse.ejb3.feature (1.0.0.200706290355-nightly) requires plug-in
"org.eclipse.wst.server.core".
It should be noted I'm referring to JBoss Tools nightly build installed by unpacking
the zip file downloaded from
http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/builds/nightly/200706290355-nightly/....
This is not to be confused with the JBossIDE Beta 2.
The problem can be demonstrated by attempting to install subclipse (for example). The
steps to recreate the problem are:
1. Install a fresh Eclipse 3.3.
2. Unzip JBossTools-200706290355-nightly-ALL-linux-gtk to the Eclipse 3.3 directory
3. In Eclipse: Help | Software Updates | Find and Install | Search for new features to
install
4. Add a new remote site. In my case I added Subclipse with the update URL of
http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.2.x
5. Select a feature to install, in my case Subclipse | Subclipse Plugin
6. The error is displayed at the top of the Updates window:

To remove any possible concerns that this may be a Subclipse issue, you can recreate the
problem also by attempting to install any of the features offered by the standard Europa
Discovery Site.
Also, I downloaded and install the "Classic" Eclipse Europa.

In an attempt to determine if I simply hadn't satisfied the JBoss Tools dependencies,
I tried another installation method that seems to yield more clues.
1. Install Eclipse 3.3 (stable).
2. Launch Eclipse.
3. Help | Software Updates | Find and Install | Search for new features to install
4. Install the Europa Discovery site features (I took the shotgun approach and installed
everything). Everything installs fine.
5. Restart Eclipse.
6. Shutdown Eclipse.
7. Unzip JBossTools-200706290355-nightly-ALL-linux-gtk to the Eclipse 3.3 directory
8. Launch Eclipse
9. Now I see the JBoss Tools icons and the Red Hat menu that I had not seen previously!
10. Help | Software Updates | Find and Install | Search for new features to install
11. Install Subclipse. It installs fine!
12. Restart Eclipse.
Sadly, the JBoss Tools icons and Red Hat menu are now gone again. I do not see anything
that looks JBoss or Red Hat specific in the Show View and Open Perspective selection
boxes. Nor do I see anything that looks JBoss or Red Hat specific in the "New"
selection wizard.
However, Subclipse is installed and seems to work.

I've attempted to test, but still experienced a similar problem. Notice that the
error message has changed slightly.
I've installed a clean Eclipse 3.3 in its own directory. I then immediately unzipped
the currently nightly (JBossTools-200707110856-nightly-ALL-linux-gtk.zip). I launched
Eclipse and attempted to install from the Europa Discovery Site. I just clicked the top
level and received the following error:
JBossIDE JBossAS Adapter Feature (1.0.0.200707110856-nightly) requires plug-in
"org.eclipse.jst.server.core (1.0.102)", or later version.
I clicked "Selected Required", but no success.
Please forgive me if this is a separate issue or if I've misunderstood.

After installing the nightly JBoss Tools nightly build on Eclipse 3.3 stable, updates are
prevented due to the following error:
org.jboss.ide.eclipse.ejb3.feature (1.0.0.200706290355-nightly) requires plug-in
"org.eclipse.wst.server.core".
It should be noted I'm referring to JBoss Tools nightly build installed by unpacking
the zip file downloaded from
http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/builds/nightly/200706290355-nightly/....
This is not to be confused with the JBossIDE Beta 2.
The problem can be demonstrated by attempting to install subclipse (for example). The
steps to recreate the problem are:
1. Install a fresh Eclipse 3.3.
2. Unzip JBossTools-200706290355-nightly-ALL-linux-gtk to the Eclipse 3.3 directory
3. In Eclipse: Help | Software Updates | Find and Install | Search for new features to
install
4. Add a new remote site. In my case I added Subclipse with the update URL of
http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.2.x
5. Select a feature to install, in my case Subclipse | Subclipse Plugin
6. The error is displayed at the top of the Updates window:

Could you try with a more recent nightly? You'll need to have a build after the commit
was made (which was yesterday, the 10th). The most recent build was from a few hours ago:

Unfortunately, that seems to be the same build I used.
Forgive me for not being clear enough. For my update on 11/Jul/07 11:37 AM I had already
upgraded the version of JBoss Tools nightly that I was using. I mentioned the version,
but didn't specifically state that I had upgraded.
I tried with a clean Eclipse 3.3 and JBossTools-200707110856-nightly-ALL-linux-gtk.
Or am I misunderstanding your feedback? Thanks for your help.

I have tested it with this nightly: JBossTools-200707111701-nightly-ALL-win32.zip
After installation i got an error about org.eclipse.jem
So i deleted the corresponding line according to the comment of Jamie Cruise from 30.6:
"I also removed the org.eclipse.jem import element from
eclipse\features\org.jboss.ide.eclipse.feature_2.0.0.200706241629-nightly" (see
above)
After that, all is fine.

After installing the nightly JBoss Tools nightly build on Eclipse 3.3 stable, updates are
prevented due to the following error:
org.jboss.ide.eclipse.ejb3.feature (1.0.0.200706290355-nightly) requires plug-in
"org.eclipse.wst.server.core".
It should be noted I'm referring to JBoss Tools nightly build installed by unpacking
the zip file downloaded from
http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/builds/nightly/200706290355-nightly/....
This is not to be confused with the JBossIDE Beta 2.
The problem can be demonstrated by attempting to install subclipse (for example). The
steps to recreate the problem are:
1. Install a fresh Eclipse 3.3.
2. Unzip JBossTools-200706290355-nightly-ALL-linux-gtk to the Eclipse 3.3 directory
3. In Eclipse: Help | Software Updates | Find and Install | Search for new features to
install
4. Add a new remote site. In my case I added Subclipse with the update URL of
http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.2.x
5. Select a feature to install, in my case Subclipse | Subclipse Plugin
6. The error is displayed at the top of the Updates window:
org.jboss.ide.eclipse.ejb3.feature (1.0.0.200706290355-nightly) requires plug-in
"org.eclipse.wst.server.core".
