Fred Bricon commented on JBDS-2945:
-----------------------------------
There are a couple ways to import maven projects from git :
- [
m2eclipse-egit|https://github.com/tesla/m2eclipse-egit], installable from Preferences
> Maven > Discovery > Open catalog
- [~snjeza]'s [JBoss Git Integration plugin|JBIDE-8452]
But I agree we need a more streamlined way to import Maven projects with eGit. I opened a
[feature request for
eGit|https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=354524] some time
ago, but we never found the time to contribute anything.
Unable to import Maven project from Git perspective
---------------------------------------------------
Key: JBDS-2945
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBDS-2945
Project: Developer Studio (JBoss Developer Studio)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Security Level: Public(Everyone can see)
Components: maven
Affects Versions: 7.1.0.GA
Reporter: Jozef Hartinger
I am roughly following these steps
https://community.jboss.org/wiki/AdvancedJavaEELabjaro2014 to import a project from a Git
repository.
I firstly use the Git perspective to clone a remote repository.
Then, still in the Git perspective when I right-click on the "Working
directory" there is an option to "Import projects". However, this option
only allows for eclipse or general projects to be imported. A Maven project is not
recognized.
I am aware of other ways of importing the Maven project. However, I think that Maven
should be supported consistently across all the "import-project-like" dialogs,
not only some of them.
