Yura Zhishko commented on JBIDE-3504:
-------------------------------------
I think that deleting JBoss, JSF submenus is a not good idea. Deleting them is assume that
we should delete palette's and users' group names from appeared context submenu.
Here is a simple example which may mislead user when he(she) tries to select tag:
1) Create in palette main group and name it "mygroup1"
2) Create in palette main group and name it "mygroup2"
3) In main group "mygroup1" create subgroup "Facelets"
4) In main group "mygroup2" create subgroup "Facelets"
Now call context menu on the Visual Pane. You should see something like that...
(screenshot-2)
But, imagine the situation when we have different main groups with the same named
subgroups, for example, "Facelets". If we delete items with main groups'
names from context submenu, user can spend a lot of time looking through the all
"Facelets" groups, when he(she) wants to find a necessary tag for inserting or
replacing.
So, the purpose of JBoss, JSF submenus is clear: they help user to find a tag from
appropriate tag group.
>Or simply drop the whole "From Palette" step and just
have Before/Around/Into/After as the top-level menu ?
As one of the possible
solutions is good. I reassigned this to Denis Maliarevich.
