We can open a separate JIRA if you like since this is a little different. We downloaded Eclipse Neon's Java EE bundle, then downloaded Dev Studio 10.2 from Eclipse Marketplace. It will work for a while, but at some point we get a hang with the same error in .metadata/.log described by the original report above. In one of my teammate's case, he was working for about a week before something seemingly got corrupted and he could no longer function. In my case, it worked for a few weeks. My recovery steps: * kill eclipse * delete .metadata folder * start eclipse with -clean * select the same workspace folder (which recreates .metadata) * import existing projects * configure server adapters It hasn't crashed on me yet since I did that, but it's only been a few minutes.
