I believe most (or all) of the middleware templates do this. If they don't, we at least discussed that with [~irishfan99ko]. I know one of his concerns is there is a maximum length to resource names and that it various depending upon resource. I am unable to confirm that without looking at the origin code base, but that would be one limitation.
