This is upstream and so cannot be fixed now, however, I'm also not able to replicate
any performance hit here. It seems to switch very very quickly for me. Not sure what might
be causing the delay for you. Any chance you could run through it in a runtime workbench
and find which calls take the longest?

currently I use beta 2 and this switch is very very quickly - so I think the issue was
fixed, but if you did not fix it - I can suppose other reason,
when I got the issue with M2 - I have rather slow internet connection - so if internet
connection is necessary here - slow internet connection could be a reason.
