Reading the link you sent to me, .gitkeep is not a feature of git at all, and is simply a
hack that some users came up with. Adding a .gitkeep is no different than adding a
.robkeep or a .nickkeep. Git treats them all the same.
Not sure why you think .gitkeep is the "recommended" way, when it clearly is not

initially I thought there were a technically but i'm fine with either .gitignore or
.gitkeep - whatever ever works.
But I prefer .gitkeep since it makes it more explicit what you want to do since .gitignore
indicates you want files ignored but this is about keeping a directory.
Anyway, +1 for this to make the test pass.
