I tried to use the New Web Service Wizard (I think it comes from WTP) to create a new WS
endpoint starting from WSDL. The attached PDF shows the "workflow" that I

Went to the server to remove the generated project and restart the server. Eventually I
received an error about a "loop" and Eclipse crashed.

I think maybe WTP team think a web service is a enterprise feature, so they create a ear
for every web service.
When we developed the ws module in our codes base, we reused the wtp web service framwork.

I tested this issue based on the latest jbds build. It is ok for me.And if these two ears
are both in the jbds workspace, I can't get the two web servcies because the server
will know the two web service will be same. So it don't create a new one for this
purpose.

And I found the reason for your problem. When you create a web service by using the web
service wizard, the wtp will create a dynamic web project and a ear project, and the
dynamic project facet: dynamic web module =2.5.
So in the ear project, we can't find a application.xml. Then the server can't find
the web service.
I remebered I had asked this question, as if this is a jboss server problem.

For JBoss server, from jboss 4.x to jboss 5.x, and for the j2ee web module 2.4, the
application.xml of a ear is required. The server need to read some information from it.
But in the eclipse wtp framwork and J2ee web module 2.5, the application.xml is optional.

a ear project, right-click on it.On the popup-menu, there is JAVA EE Tools -> Generate
Deployment Descriptor strub.

Fixed in JBIDE-5870.
Next time it would have been good to been beaten with a stick saying this was unique for a
specific platform (AS/EAP 5) and that it makes any webservice deployment broken.
I just saw it as a complaint against the WAR in EAR, not a complete failure to work.
