Snjezana Peco commented on JBIDE-8452:
--------------------------------------
I have tested m2eclipse-egit and noticed the following issues:
1. m2eclipse-egit master can't be compiled using egit 0.12.1
It seems that this project isn't being maintained. The latest build was in March of
2011.
2. I have also tried to create the Arquillian project using m2eclipse-git from m2e
marketplace. m2eclipse-egit clones the repository, but doesn't find any maven
project.
The m2e SCM wizard doesn't support some features that exist within the "Import
Projects from Git" wizard (selecting branch, initial branch, remote name, for
instance). m2eclipse-egit clones all branches and sets other values to their default
values.
3. SSH remote authentication doesn't work correctly. This is an EGit/Eclipse issue
described in
http://community.jboss.org/people/snjeza/blog/2011/02/28/how-to-work-with...
Re creating project examples based on a maven project in a git/svn repository,
m2eclipse-egit isn't required. The feature would require m2e-core, EGit/subclipse. If
a project in a git/svn repository is a maven web project (war, ear, ejb packaging...), it
is recommended to have m2eclipse-wtp and the JBoss Maven Integration.

Affects Versions: 3.2.0.Final
Reporter: Snjezana Peco
Assignee: Fred Bricon
Fix For: 3.3.0.M2
It will enable us to import a maven project from a git repository and create project
examples using examples from a git repository directly. As to the seam examples, it will
be enough to add an entry to the project examples xml file.
This feature will require EGit -
