Generate Entities hangs on Oracle database
------------------------------------------
Key: JBIDE-1801
URL:
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBIDE-1801
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Bug
Components: ejb3, Hibernate, Seam
Affects Versions: 2.0.0.GA
Environment: Debian Linux and Windows XP. Both with Eclipse Europe WTP.
Reporter: Wouter van Reeven
On a Debian box I have setup an Oracle XE database. From within Eclipse I can create a
connection to the database and see all the tables in the schema for the user that I have
logged in with on the database. When I try to Generate Entities from the Seam perspective,
CPU usage goes up and then dies out after a few seconds. This happens on both Debian Linux
and Windows XP, trying to connect to the same XE database. The same procedure works
perfectly ok using a PostgeSQL 8.3 database, both from Debian and XP.
I am trying to find out what is going wrong but haven't been very lucky. Starting up
Eclipse with -debug and -consolelog doens't provide any clues as to what is going
wrong. I have updated DTP which only installed the latest doc. I am at a loss here. Please
advicve how to debug further so I may either find a workaround or file a bug.
