Using the SOA-P 5 and the Smooks Editor for an action chain. The Editor will not map from
XML to Java. Here are the steps followed:
1. Select XML as the input type and add an XML example file as the input data for the
model(I used order.xml from the SOA-P examples)
2. Click on Input Task and add a Task , and select Java Mapping.
3. In the Selected Task Details pane, you should be able to right click and add a Java
Class. This would allow mapping from XML and the new Java Class selected. Please see
figure 2.7 of the Smooks Editor documentation:

The popup menu can be sketchy at times. If you right-click on the canvas a couple of times
in different places it typically comes up.

I had trouble getting screencasting software to work on my box. A gcc compiler would take
22 hours to download. After waiting for the download, I went back to retry the area a
couple of times as Brian Fitzpatrick recommended and I get the Java Class mapping option
to appear now. This needs to be fixed before JBDS goes to GA!

Sorry for the shouting all.
My concern is that developers will not be able to figure out how to get the popup menu to
come up.
Basically, at this point they need to click around the white space area until the popup
comes up.
I think Brian Fitzpatrick as a good idea of the current issue.

Vista is with this, and what differences the JDK makes here in response to events.

The trick on RHEL 5 is that first time you right-click on the task details graph. If
NOTHING is selected that first time you right-click on the canvas, I can consistently
reproduce it about 90% of the time.

I just tried this on UBuntu and it works fine.
So Brian... you see this on RHEL, but only if you haven't selected the canvas i.e. if
you first left click the canvas and then right click... you get the appropriate menu? If
this is the case, then do we just need to make sure that by default, the canvas has
focus?

Maybe. I looked into this a couple of times and got lost each time I went down the rabbit
hole. But the upshot is that nothing is selected (the structured selection is empty), so
making sure the canvas has focus *MAY* fix it. I really don't know.

Right click in Smooks editor is unreliable

Using the SOA-P 5 and the Smooks Editor for an action chain. The Editor will not map
from XML to Java. Here are the steps followed:
1. Select XML as the input type and add an XML example file as the input data for the
model(I used order.xml from the SOA-P examples)
2. Click on Input Task and add a Task , and select Java Mapping.
3. In the Selected Task Details pane, you should be able to right click and add a Java
Class. This would allow mapping from XML and the new Java Class selected. Please see
figure 2.7 of the Smooks Editor documentation:
