arne anka commented on JBIDE-4056:
----------------------------------
i don't know -- if i had a way i had posted already. i assumed the files are related
because you asked for them.
look, if i knew what to do, i would most likely not have written what i wrote.
for reasons not clear to me, jboss tools started something called update though no jboss
tools related project was active.
that's the best i can say and i'd assume that developers of jboss tools would be
able to find that information displayed in the progress view in their code somewhere and
thus to determein what mecahnism causes this behaviour.
i am still not sure, if "JProject ARchives Builder" is related to jboss tools --
determining what plugins own what config options, what views and what messages in simply a
pita since eclipse does either use complex names like xxx.yyy.foo.bar or human readable
names not easily related to those cryptic names, not to speak from config options or views
which only by an occasional string allow to guess what plugin might be related.
i see symptoms, i describe them and hope, those guys writing the code have a clue where
that comes from.
that's what my customers expect from me, even when i work with code i did not write
myself, and usually it works.
cooperation with mylyn?

Key: JBIDE-4056
URL:
https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBIDE-4056
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Seam
Affects Versions: 3.0.0.GA
Reporter: arne anka
Priority: Minor
Attachments: jboss.png, jbossbug.zip
i work on two projects alternately, one is a jboss seam project (say, A), one is totally
unrelated (say, B).
both projects are, in eclipse terms, always open. i swotch between them by using mylyn
and working sets.
the last week i worked on B and frequently experienced rather heavy resource usage
because jboss tools did some operations, which were unnecessary because nothing changed in
in A.
looking into the progress view there was an entry about building workspace,
"invoking JProject ARchives Builder on A", "System: Jboss Tools
Update" (see attached screenshot).
i don't know, if there's a more intelligent way, but maybe jboss tools could try
to detect if the project is part of the mylyn task currently active and if not, stop any
activity?
