Alexander Kurtakov commented on JBDS-3495:
------------------------------------------
I don't follow. If the user already installed from the nightly site - why would he
want the nightly updatesite added ?
^^ Because this is nightly site which is targeting developers of the tool/plugin itself
thus it helps being always uptodate. This is not something people should ship/include in
their products ever. Droping the update site on nightlies would have negative effect on
contributors thus would not happen.
And why would you want linuxtools updatesite added if you are installing from jbosstools
or anyone elses updatesite ?
^^ I can agree on this one to a point. If JBoss includes stuff from the release site (not
nightly!) part of the problem will be solved as nightly would not be included anywhere
(and it shouldn't).
If you insist on having this, can you tell me which updatesite we can use for building
that does not have this force add of an updatesite ?
^^ So the problem is that there is update site at all configured and not that it's
nightly? If the update site is disabled by default (for the released version only!) this
should be good compromise IMHO giving both easy path for people installing from
Eclipse.org p2 repo and from JBoss.
