Rob Stryker resolved JBIDE-14596.
---------------------------------
Resolution: Done
There is currently no UI to demonstrate this. There are unit tests already. This was an
api-addition test.
Ability to set timeouts to ECFTransport-based connections
---------------------------------------------------------
Key: JBIDE-14596
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-14596
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: common/jst/core
Affects Versions: 4.1.0.Beta1
Reporter: Fred Bricon
Assignee: Rob Stryker
Priority: Blocker
Fix For: 4.1.0.Beta2
Recent
http://download.jboss.org outage showed a critical flaw in ECFTransport design.
Basically, Project Example based wizards hang waiting for http connections to timeout
(it's a loooong timeout by default). Moreover, these http connections can't be
aborted, which causes JBIDE-14593.
This needs to be fixed at the ECFTransport level, in order to properly support a
"work offline" scenario.
So :
- a configurable timeout value should be used, when invoking the different connection
methods
- canceling the download monitor should properly abort current http connection
