I'm tracing through this bug now.
First, you're 100% in that the extension point in my plugin.xml is old and stale.
But it has 0 effect on what gets launched.
Basically, the framework is going through a list of "LaunchableAdapters" until
*one* of them
claim to support the selected object. It will go through every launchable adapter
available.
This bug is not due to my plugin.xml code, but rather due to the fact that no launchable
adapter
is claiming the selected object.
But a use-case can definitely help me test some more =D

I committed some fixes to HEAD (not yet re-tagged) but this only fixes part of it.
Specifically, servlets are broken via run on server. I found an eclipse bug on the issue
but they seem to have misdiagnosed the problem =P
