John Graham commented on JBIDE-3820:
------------------------------------
I understand the need to avoid clutter in the server/deploy folder, but I also think that
this will be a common cause of confusion. Maybe a middle ground is to have the server node
in the Servers view provide properties (including essentially everything that is in the
server config file) so the user can quickly check the location in the Eclipse Properties
view. Also, maybe tool tip text on the server node showing the deploy location would help
to avoid confusion.
Default deploy location should be into server deploy directory, not
workspace .metadata folder

Key: JBIDE-3820
URL:
https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBIDE-3820
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Bug
Affects Versions: 3.0.0.CR2
Reporter: John Graham
The default deploy location is to a folder under the workspace/.metadata folder, but this
is confusing to new users expecting to see contents added to the server/deploy folder.
Since the user can adjust this location in the server configuration available from the
Servers view, the default deploy location should be to server/deploy.
