Viacheslav Kabanovich commented on JBIDE-4976:
----------------------------------------------
The standard Palette view, accessible by "Window->Show
View->Others->General->Palette" will be shown in the right top part of Web
Development and Seam perspectives instead of JBoss Tools Palette, which will still remain
at "Window->Show View->Others->Jboss Tools Web->JBoss Tools
Palette", but may at a later time be removed if users are entirely satisfied with new
Palette.
There are only two differences in behaviour between new and old Palette.
1) New Palette is filled only when Visual Page Editor is open and activated, while old
Palette is static.
2) Expanded/Collapsed state of tabs in new Palette is not global as in old Palette, but
associated with instance of Visual Page Editor - it can be different for different files,
and each new file open in Visual Page Editor will have the default state of Palette with
all tabs collapsed.
Though the behaviour of new Palette is standard for Eclipse, these two differences may be
found inconvenient for some of our customers that are used to global kind of
expanded/collapsed state and also prefer the opportunity to customize Palette before they
start working on a project (before they open Visual Page Editor). That is why I recommend
to keep old Palette accessible through "Window->Show View" menu and to
mention in documentation the opportunity to access it.
Hook JBoss Tools Palette into standard Eclipse GEF Palette view
