Assuming that the current RSEUtils was mostly correct, I copied the new version over and
added a few changes to fix any compile errors that were caused by changed method
signatures.
I deprecated the changed methods, added sensible defaults to redirect the outdated api to
the new one, and added any missing utility methods or classes.

verified on on v0.0.1.v20110503-1752-H179-M1. If i cancel when asking for username/pass,
server adapter is not being created, but RS does, which makes sense IMHO.
