in 3.1.0.M4(and M3), if you have two projects, an EJB project(jar) and a web project(war).
there is a major delay after creating a seam bean in the EJB project(maybe a restart of
eclipse). The completion only is immediate when I create seam beans in the web project.
I am not sure why and am hoping this is easily reproducible. We added the EJB project to
the web app libraries through the J2EE Modules tab. It is very frustrating since many
many beans are EJB3 beans and we have to have a separate project of EJB3 beans as we have
12 different projects using the same EJB3 jar file so I can't put it in my web project
to solve the problem.

oh yeah, steps to reproduce
1. create two projects
2. in EJB project, create a seam bean with a @Name("tempTest")
3. go to xhtml in web project, and type in #{te (and at this point, ctrl-space, but it
doesn't work)
It does work if I create the tempTest inside the web project. I think I have to restart
eclipse every time or something...not sure what, but I know a project clean was not
working.

1. ejb proj was a simple java project . web project was java project converted to seam
project using project-preferences
2. doesn't work!!!.....It is like it is using an old jar from the ejb project as I see
the other beans there, but any newly created ones don't work....at some point(maybe a
restart of eclipse, it picked up the new one finally and worked again, but any new beans I
create, it simply does not work, and cleaning the projects did not help either.
3. I attached all the settings files.

Ok. I see the problem. You have to enable Seam support on the EJB project too. Please do
it via project-preferences but set Main Seam Project field to <WarProject>.

I right click ejb project, and select properties, select seam settings and it
"already" has seam support enabled BUT, the project listed is wrong...it lists
the web project instead, so I click browse button to change it to the ejb project but
after clicking browse, it only lists the web project. I can't choose the ejb project,
so I choose "show all projects" next.....I then choose ejb project, click ok.
Now, I go back to the web project and right click on it and choose properties, then seam
settings and it still says it is the web project.
hmmm, so how is it that my ejb project listed the web project....quite weird.
It does seam to work now, though I did run into some content assist error popup window
once but it seems to be fine after that.
something weird though, it generated a brand new seam prefs file in .settings which makes
sense if there was no seam support before, so how is it that the seam settings dialog was
filled in with the info from another project if this seam settings file did not exist
before...org.jboss.tools.seam.core.prefs is a new file according to my source control
system that was just created......so my xcore3 did not have seam support before but the
prefences dialog said it did...is that some kind of other bug?
oh well, it works great now, THANKS!!!!

Main Seam Project field should be set to your WEB project.
If you have a few seam projects (EJBs, WAR,,, so it's your case) then all of these
projects should have WAR project as Main Seam Project. It will let Seam Tools model works
correct with all projects.
So it's ok if you can select WAR project only (as Main Seam Project) for EJB by
default.
For example:
EJBProject1: Main Seam Project == WARProject
EJBProject2: Main Seam Project == WARProject
WARProject: Main Seam Project == WARProject
But if you see Seam support is enabled in the preference page then there should be
.settings/org.jboss.tools.seam.core.prefs in the project. And there is not such file in
your attachment. It's definitely weird...

yeah, it was weird and I did realize later that you said to have the web project as the
project for ejb in seam settings so I changed that though it did work when I had ejb
project set as well so it didn't seem to care.
