Mickael Istria commented on JBIDE-16368:
----------------------------------------
* Mylyn: required by Central, org.jboss.tools.common.mylyn
** evaluate this bundle's dependencies and trim out other org.eclipse.mylyn stuff from
TP
* Atlassian: required for JIRA integration
** (Jira rest client may be requested in future:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-15630 )
** required by org.jboss.tools.common.mylyn
* GWT: required by org.jboss.tools.maven.gwt [about to be deprecated in their next major
release - maybe September?] and o.j.t.gwt [deprecated in JBDS 8]
** maven/gwt days are counted, we need to check with the Google Team, as they're
working on a similar feature so maven/gwt will be archived eventually
* BIRT: required by o.j.t.birt stuff
** Same as Mylyn, keep only dependencies of our birt component. Other stuff we like to
provide should go to central
http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/stable/kepler/ lists a handful of
"Additional Tools" from JBT we could consider building SEPARATELY from the core
JBT/JBDS aggregates, then feeding that site into Central directly
This would expose some outlying content better (Aerogear, Arquillian, Birt, Eclipse
CSS Themes for Central, Forge.ext (Forge 2), Maven.GWT, common.mylyn, vpe.cordovasim)
o.j.t.gwt [deprecated])
Clean useless features from TP
------------------------------
Key: JBIDE-16368
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-16368
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Enhancement
Components: target-platform
Affects Versions: 4.2.x
Reporter: Mickael Istria
Assignee: Mickael Istria
Priority: Optional
Fix For: 4.2.x
In order to trim some stuff out of our target-platform, we should:
* Install JBDS from installer
* Look at its content in plugins/ and features/ and compare it with content of the TP
site.
Everything that is in TP site but not in JBDS is probably worth being removed from TP.
