Xavier Coulon commented on JBIDE-17122:
---------------------------------------
[~mlabuda], [~maxandersen],
The PR (
https://github.com/jbosstools/jbosstools-website/pull/117) fixes some of the
problems reported by [~mlabuda]:
- "JBDS release has in description 'One click install - for Windows, Linux and
Mac'..." -> done, there's a new "Standalone Installer" section
- "JBT update site zip links have label 'unknown'..." -> fixed. Some
URLs ended with {{/download}}, which was not expected.
The PR also:
- sets "archived: true" for DevStudio 7.1.0.GA since we now have 7.1.1.GA
- restores the link to the blog annoucements (when configured in {{products.yml}})
Remaining issues:
- "JBDS 8.0.0.Beta1 development download page does not contain MD5..." ->
[~nickboldt], do we have such {{.MD5}} files ?
- "in same page is Installation link leading to
http://tools.jboss.org/downloads/installation.html..." -> [~maxandersen],
[~nickboldt]: should we have 2 different installation pages ?
As for "JBT specific release download page containt Market place, Central and Update
site tabs...": the "Central" tab is available when there's a link to
download JBossTools/Devstudio Integration Stack, which is the case for 7.1.0.GA. But
Market Place has a single version of DevStudio 7.1.x which is 7.1.1.GA, which explains why
7.1.0.GA has no Market Place tab (anymore).
Website: download section improvements
--------------------------------------
Key: JBIDE-17122
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-17122
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Enhancement
Components: website
Affects Versions: 4.2.0.Beta1
Reporter: Marián Labuda
Assignee: Max Rydahl Andersen
Priority: Minor
The whole download section could be more effective. Few examples:
- JBDS release has in description "One click install - for Windows, Linux and
Mac" and "Full IDE installer or install to existing Eclipse" but after
opening this page (by clicking on download button or JBoss Developer Studio 7.1.0.GA link)
there is not "one click install", only update site is provided (only JBDS
8.0.0.Beta1 contains installer under Update site tab - there should be similar link - with
jars - for JBDS 7.1.0.GA and JBDS 7.1.1.GA). Location:
http://tools.jboss.org/downloads/
left side
- JBDS 8.0.0.Beta1 development download page does not contain MD5 under Update Site Zip
tab. Is it intentional? Location:
http://tools.jboss.org/downloads/devstudio/luna/8.0.0.Beta1.html#zips
- in same page is Installation link leading to
http://tools.jboss.org/downloads/installation.html. On this page is paragraph Installer
which describe installer and there is a download link leading back do downloads page with
JBDS and JBT release. I think this link should navigate to JBDS download page, bcs. it is
describing JBDS installer (not JBT). Location:
http://tools.jboss.org/downloads/installation.html and link "download" in
Installer section.
- JBT specific release download page containt Market place, Central and Update site tabs,
but JBDS specific release contains Market place XOR Central and Update site. JBDS 7.1.0.GA
is missing Market place and JBDS 7.1.1.GA is missing Central (for JBDS-IS installation
details). See JBDS pages:
http://tools.jboss.org/downloads/devstudio/kepler/7.1.0.GA.html
http://tools.jboss.org/downloads/devstudio/kepler/7.1.1.GA.html
http://tools.jboss.org/downloads/devstudio/luna/8.0.0.Beta1.html and tabs on each page in
middle
- JBT update site zip links have label "unknown", there should be more
convenient. Locations:
http://tools.jboss.org/downloads/jbosstools/kepler/4.1.1.Beta1.html#zips
http://tools.jboss.org/downloads/jbosstools/kepler/4.1.1.Alpha2.html#zips

http://tools.jboss.org/downloads/jbosstools/kepler/4.1.0.Alpha2.html#zips
