Our New Web Seam Project wizard creates projects which work on AS6 but don't on AS7.
Seam-gen doesn't work in Seam 2.3.Beta1 and as far as I understend it's gonna be
fixed in the next beta.
So I'm afraid we don't have proper file templates in Seam 2.3.Beta1 which we can
use in our wizard to generate a working project for AS7.1.

http://ci.jboss.org/hudson/view/Seam/job/Seam-2.3.X-dist-nightly/75/ in JBT + AS
7.1.1.Final.
Here is the problems I got:
1. We need to fix -ds.xml:
- fix syntax error (we should add "" to the attribute which set DS name since
in Seam 2.2< it was added by seam-gen)
- put the correct driver name (in Seam 2.2 there was not any driver name)
- copy driver jar next to -ds.xml
2. Remove obsolete jboss-app.xml
3. Tested snapshot doesn't have correct dependency. For example it still has RichFaces
3.3 instead of 4 which supports JSF 2.0.

are you really trying latest Seam snapshot? There should be version 2.3.0.Beta2-SNAPSHOT
of seam jars.
Add 3) Richfaces in seam are there due Richfaces CDK 3.3 and its usage for generation of
Seam UI taglib which is not migrated to RF CDk 4 yet. Anyway examples are using RF 4 and
also seam-gen should do that too.

1.2 and 1.3 are fixed. JBT creates a correct -ds.xml file and deploys the DB driver jar
from the corresponding DB profile.
1.1 (syntax error in -ds.xml) should be fixed in Seam runtime.
2. Fixed. We don't create/copy jboss-web.xm anymore.
3. JBT part is fixed. We don't use a hardcoded list of the required jars for Seam 2.3
anymore. JBT now uses seam-gen/build-scripts/*deployed-jars-ear.list*
*deployed-jars-ear-war.list* and *deployed-jars-war.list* to get the lists of the required
jars.
So as soon as Seam team updates these lists and place jar files in lib folder of Seam
distribution JBT will copy them to the project.
4. Still wait for Seam team to be fixed in Seam.

2. In runtime it seems to work. But..
3. If I genearate new Action, Form, etc. (we use seam-gen templates for that) then the app
fails.
EL cannot be resolved to the new components
I don't see any changes in these templates from Seam 2.2. So it seems that
something was changed in Seam or JSF and these templates are not quite correct.
Anyway it's a problem of seam-gen templates. Not JBT.

It depends on what estimation is for that.
If JBDS 6 only shares the code that should stay as TechPreview, because our product line
strategy is that Seam 2.3 is TechPreview as a support goal. And that will change in future
WFK releases.
Pure technical reason why it should stay as TechPreview is that JBoss Tools still
doesn't support Seam 2.3 and Arquillian Test generation.
