Martin Malina closed JBDS-3111.
-------------------------------
Verified in JBDS 8.0.0.CR2 B286. It works as expected now. When you start the installer
with the internet plugin, it will default to something better anyway. But if you still
enter "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home"
manually, you will now get only one warning: JBoss Developer Studio does not work with
Java Applet Plug-in.
I think it's ok. Closing.
Improve installer error message when Java Applet Plug-in selected as
JVM on Mac OS X

Key: JBDS-3111
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBDS-3111
Project: Developer Studio (JBoss Developer Studio)
Issue Type: Enhancement
Components: installer
Affects Versions: 8.0.0.Beta3
Reporter: Martin Malina
Assignee: Denis Golovin
Priority: Minor
Fix For: 8.0.0.CR2
Attachments: default-java.png
This is a follow up of JBDS-3014.
When you double click the installer in Finder on OS X, the default java located in
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home will now be rejected with
an error because apparently that is just the JRE, not JDK.
!default-java.png!
But the error is a bit vague.
Max suggested this:
{quote}
Should say something like JDK does not work, need to be a full JDK Java 7 or higher or
similar if user point to a broken jdk.
and if the folder does not contain anything it should not make it sound that a JDK is
actually there
{quote}
Even better, we could find the location of real JDK and offer that first.
