> As a teiid embedded user there must be JDBC socket transport in embedded mode so that external java application (outside the application server in which teiid embedded has been hosted) can connect to the vdb's using the teiid jdbc driver and can perform operation on it.
> This feature will really help the teiid embedded users to start using this feature in enterprises level applications .

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-2666) Extend OData output formats, currently JSON and XML supported
by Cojan van Ballegooijen (JIRA)
Cojan van Ballegooijen commented on TEIID-2666:
-----------------------------------------------
I would expect this in Teiid since you can specify in the OData URL with the format parameter. Since it produces JSON I would assume that it is easy to extend it with output format like CSV.
Another more flexible would be to be able to specify your own transformation with for example xslt.
E.g. <OData URL>?format=xslt('<xslt file>')?....

yes, some kind of mark up is required to show all the necessary info about ref url and navigation etc. There is also I believe a way to request for bare results, I do not recall exact call semantics for that, that may work in combination with "content-type" header. But for it we need to extend the odata4j framework

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-2666) Extend OData output formats, currently JSON and XML supported
by Steven Hawkins (JIRA)
Steven Hawkins commented on TEIID-2666:
---------------------------------------
How would this work within the odata protocol? There are well defined formats for json and atom with some notes about extensibity within atom, but nothing well-defined about other formats entirely. Also if this is completely custom would you expect this in Teiid or would it make more sense in a message bus layer.
