[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-3005) Support Kerberos pass-thru to the data source
by Ramesh Reddy (JIRA)
Ramesh Reddy commented on TEIID-3005:
-------------------------------------
General rule of thumb, if the JCA layer for the source (RAR File) is not written in the Teiid, then it falls into the JBoss EAP development, if JBoss EAP does not support it, there is not much Teiid team can do.

> Need to add support for Kerberos authentication pass-thru all the way to the data source, for data sources that support Kerberos, of course. Besides relational data sources, could it also support Cloudera Hadoop Distribution.
> This maybe a duplicate of other pass-thru related jira's, but wasn't sure, so I logged this to at least get confirmation.

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-3006) Support Kerberos pass-thru to relational data sources

Steven Hawkins commented on TEIID-3006:
---------------------------------------
It seems like the support here will need to come from JCA / JBoss AS. As long as our security context is correct, the rest should be handled at the pooling layer.

It would work best to have specific source issues, or at least subtasks. Can you identify the sources with subtasks?

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-2996) Ability to disable keepAlive
by Steven Hawkins (JIRA)
Steven Hawkins commented on TEIID-2996:
---------------------------------------
> What is the reason of having this feature?
What is the purpose of pinging or what is the purpose of disabling? I touch on both briefly and then you can ask for specifics.
The ping allows the server to remove sessions from hung or otherwise disabled vms. The load balancing logic can maintain sessions on multiple servers for a given connection, which can be disassociated from sockets. So if a vm goes down in a load-balancing scenario there can be orphaned sessions.
The rationale for disabling pings are for when you don't care about hung vms and you are not using Teiid load-balancing such that each connection will be associated with a single socket so that a simple client vm shutdown will be enough to cleanup sessions.
