[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-5313) Oracle translator issue with mixing string types
by Steven Hawkins (JIRA)
Steven Hawkins resolved TEIID-5313.
-----------------------------------
Fix Version/s: 10.1.3
10.2.1
Resolution: Done
Added handling of mixing unicode and non-unicode strings in union and case expressions. Also turned on the unicode prefix for literals and updated the conversion to char - as oracle implicitly will treat as a char(n) ascii type otherwise. The logic for detecting the unicode type does not yet assume all possible situations (it doesn't try to go deeply into expressions) so there are situations that could still error - but they should not an incorrect query.

> Oracle produces an exception when internationalized and regular character strings are mixed via a union or case statement, for example:
> case when val = 'x' then 'x' else N'y' end
> The translator only puts the N literal prefix when a non-ascii character is present though.

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-5313) Oracle translator issue with mixing string types
by Steven Hawkins (JIRA)
Steven Hawkins created TEIID-5313:
-------------------------------------
Summary: Oracle translator issue with mixing string types
Key: TEIID-5313
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-5313
Project: Teiid
Issue Type: Bug
Components: JDBC Connector
Reporter: Steven Hawkins
Assignee: Steven Hawkins
Fix For: 10.3
Oracle produces an exception when internationalized and regular character strings are mixed via a union or case statement, for example:
case when val = 'x' then 'x' else N'y' end
The translator only puts the N literal prefix when a non-ascii character is present though.

> Sybase implicitly converts a String value 'yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm' into a Date value.
> This format is not standard and this conversion is specific to Sybase.
> As JDBC/Java standard, JDV implicitly converts
> 'yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss' into a Timestamp value
> 'yyyy-MM-dd' into a Date value
> So JDV does not considered 'yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm' as a Date value and does not proceed to any implicit conversion. 'yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm' remains like a String value which partially matches with Date comparison
> Constraint
> We cannot modify the incoming query

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-5312) NullPointerException thrown when the second time login via GSS API
by Yuming Zhu (JIRA)
Yuming Zhu commented on TEIID-5312:
-----------------------------------
Thanks [~shawkins] [~rareddy] for your investigating
I missed cache-type attribute.
After removing cache-type="default", this NPE disappeared.
{quote}
Do you want caching to be disabled, or should we just make the code work with caching - it seems like we should be able to get at the old context information somehow in that case.
{quote}
It would be better to let caching work here.
