by Pranav K (JIRA)

Pranav K commented on TEIID-3849:
---------------------------------
I'll try and verify this fix, thanks. I see this marked for 9.0 which is later, is there a possibility of releasing it earlier with 8.13 too?

> The connector seems to execute the insert queries one by one rather than using batched approach, also the API used is the synchronous one instead of the future based async API [session.executeAsync()]
> Cassandra writes are generally very fast, but it was noted in one scenario that on a single node Cassandra setup inserting a set 50k records and 3 columns took more than 25 mins.

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-2729) Dynamic VDB xml requires sibling elements to be in a certain order
by Steven Hawkins (JIRA)
Steven Hawkins updated TEIID-2729:
----------------------------------
Fix Version/s: 9.x
(was: 8.12.x)
I made a change just to the permission element and I'm going to punt the rest of this for now. The most robust approaches are either to have 1.1 xsd support or to add wrapping elements - properties, models, etc. such that we can have 0/1 of them.

> In my *-vdb.xml, I have a model defined per following snippet:
> <model name="myModel" type="PHYSICAL" visible="true">
> <source name="myModel" translator-name="hive" connection-jndi-name="Hive12Src" />
> <property name="trimColumnNames" value="true" />
> </model>
> The vdb.xml failed to parse, so I moved the <property> element ahead of <source> and then it worked.
> I don't think element ordering should matter in this case?

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-3860) Create HDFS connectivity beyond Hive/Impala
by Steven Hawkins (JIRA)
Steven Hawkins created TEIID-3860:
-------------------------------------
Summary: Create HDFS connectivity beyond Hive/Impala
Key: TEIID-3860
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-3860
Project: Teiid
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Misc. Connectors
Reporter: Steven Hawkins
Fix For: 9.0
A re-occurring request is to provide direct HDFS connectivity. We need to see more on what type of operations are expected (just procedures for file access, tables, etc.).
