[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-18698) Irrelevant server item at 4.2.0 Final What's New page
by Martin Malina (JIRA)
Martin Malina created JBIDE-18698:
-------------------------------------
Summary: Irrelevant server item at 4.2.0 Final What's New page
Key: JBIDE-18698
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-18698
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Bug
Components: website
Affects Versions: 4.2.0.Final
Reporter: Martin Malina
Assignee: Xavier Coulon
Fix For: 4.2.1.Final
If you look at http://tools.jboss.org/documentation/whatsnew/jbosstools/4.2.0.Final.html...
There is an item for
JBIDE-17076 Move 'externally managed' server setting into the launch config ui's
This was done for 4.2.0 Beta2
But later it was reverted with
JBIDE-17616 Move 'externally managed' from launch config to server editor
I understand that currently the Final What's New page is an aggregate of all pre-final pages, so that's how this happened. And there is an ongoing discussion about this.
But before a the mechanism is changed, I would prefer to simply remove this one item from the Beta2 N&N page - better to remove it altogether than to show an irrelevant item in the Final N&N page.
Let me know if you agree and I can create a PR for it.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-18697) Error deploying exploded war on windows; fs / copy error
by Cássio Mazzochi Molin (JIRA)
Cássio Mazzochi Molin edited comment on JBIDE-18697 at 10/23/14 7:40 AM:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm using:
- Oracle jdk1.8.0_20 x64
- Windows 7 x64 (on Windows 8 x64 I realized the same issue)
- WildFly 8.1.0 downloaded from http://download.jboss.org/wildfly/8.1.0.Final/wildfly-8.1.0.Final.zip
- Eclipse JEE Luna SR1 for Windows x64 downloaded from http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/technology/epp/downlo...
Steps to reproduce this issue:
- Install all JBoss Tools 4.2.0.Final modules from marketplace
- Create a Runtime Environment:
-- Window > Preferences... > Server > Runtime Environments > Add...
-- Select WildFly 8.x Runtime
-- Next
-- Set Home Directory (my WildFly's directory is C:\wildfly-8.1.0.Final)
-- Select a Execution Environment or an Alternate JRE pointing to an Oracle jdk1.8.0_20 x64
-- Finish
- Create a new server from Servers view:
-- Select WildFly 8.x
-- Next
-- Use default options (server is local, controlled by filesystem and shell operations, using WildFly 8.x Runtime created on the last step)
-- Finish
- Create a Dynamic Web Project with the default options
- Create a simple servlet
- On Servers view, add the project to the server (WildFly 8.x)
- Start the server
- Change the servlet code
- On Servers view, make a publish and the error should occur
I also tested with other Eclipse and other JBoss Tools versions and I reproduced the issue.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBDS-3193) JBDS 8 generates .attach_pid* file if IDE is started with a new workspace
by Max Rydahl Andersen (JIRA)
Max Rydahl Andersen commented on JBDS-3193:
-------------------------------------------
afaik attach_pid is generated by hotspot to let tools like jps/jstack figure out the processes that is running.
It is not something devstudio generates on its own.
Is there a problem with this file ? does it not get deleted on exit or ?
