Summary: Migrate Usage to Universal Analytics

{quote}
Universal Analytics is a set of technological innovations that improve the way data is collected and processed in Google Analytics.
The Universal Analytics Upgrade is a process you can use to upgrade all of your classic Google Analytics properties into Universal Analytics properties without losing any data or changing your account settings.
All Google Analytics properties will soon be required to use Universal Analytics. *Any properties that don’t follow the upgrade process will be auto-transferred to Universal Analytics in the future*.{quote}
The transition from classic Google Analytics to Universal Analytics is happening incrementally over several phases.
The current phase is *Phase 3: Universal Analytics out of beta*.
The next phase is *Phase 4: Universal Analytics is the operating standard for Google Analytics.*:
{quote}All properties have been upgraded into Universal Analytics.
The following features will be deprecated:
ga.js
urchin.js
WAP/server-side snippets
YT / MO
Custom variables
User defined variables
*Data collected from the deprecated features will be processed for a minimum of 2 years*.{quote}
Currently, JBT usage sends requests using ga.js format. We should investigate what's changed in Analytics.js. And get ready to migrate to that new format.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-17229) Is BrowserSim 'select JRE' option obsolete?

> The preference to select a JRE with which to run BrowserSim was introduced so that 64-bit Windows users could run the IDE as 64-bit but use BrowserSim in 32-bit (since Apple Safari was only available as 32-bit for Windows).
> Now there is JavaFX option for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows users to run BrowserSIm. So 64-bit Windows users no longer need to install 32-bit Apple Safari and run BrowserSim 32-bit while IDE runs in 64-bit.
> So is there a use case any longer for users to be able to set a preference for a different JRE from the one running the IDE?

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-17230) Resolve GTK and BrowserSim web engine paradox
by Michelle Murray (JIRA)
Michelle Murray created JBIDE-17230:
---------------------------------------
Summary: Resolve GTK and BrowserSim web engine paradox
Key: JBIDE-17230
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-17230
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Enhancement
Components: browsersim
Affects Versions: 4.2.0.Beta1
Reporter: Michelle Murray
BrowserSim can be run with 2 web engines: JavaFX or SWT WebKit.
On Mac OS X, under preferences I don't see an option to change the web engine for BrowserSim. I assume it is running with JavaFX - is that right?
On Windows?? I don't have a windows system to test.
On Linux-based OS, the web engine to use depends on the GTK with which BrowserSim is run. GTK2 = JavaFX and GTK3 = SWT WebKit. There are additional restrictions based on OS with respect to this:
* JavaFX requires Oracle JDK - this JDK is only supported by Red Hat on RHEL, not Fedora or Ubuntu so this option is pointless for the majority of Linux OS we support
* On Fedora at least I have to run the IDE with GTK2 to avoid issues (export SWT_GTK3=0); running BrowserSim with GTK3 I see at least one UI issue in the BrowserSim Preferences window
The potential paradox:
* We are advising Fedora users to run IDE under GTK2 to avoid seeing UI issues but they must run BrowserSim under GTK3 so see UI issues

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-17229) Is BrowserSIm 'select JRE' option obsolete?
by Michelle Murray (JIRA)
Michelle Murray commented on JBIDE-17229:
-----------------------------------------
One use case related to JavaFX and SWT WebKit might be that RHEL users run the IDE with OpenJDK but want to use Oracle JRE to run BrowserSim to can leverage JavaFX web engine. This seems like a small and unlikely use case. All other OS are tied to either Oracle or OpenJDK; RHEL is the only one with overlap.

> * Click 'Specific Java JVM'
> * Click Browse to locate JDK or JRE
> * Navigate to find folder and click ok in file browser > the last folder is added twice to the displayed path
> In most cases this path now doesn't exist and causes error messages to this extent.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-17123) Arquillian support added even if it is not valid maven project

> When I try to add Arquillian support to maven project with corrupted pom file, the dialog says that it is not valid maven project, however, the arquillian nature is added to the project. No arquillian stuff is added to the pom.xml file.
> When I then try to add arquillian profile to the corrupted pom file, the profile is generated.
> This is confusing - we should either prevent adding arquillian nature in case of corrupt pom file or generate arquillian stuff in both cases - adding support and adding profiles.

You're right. I was running it by just double clicking the JAR using my default settings. The odd part was when I set the JDK in the 4th? step it did not change the outcome when I tried to run JBDS after installation.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-16931) Support for linked folders in cordovasim
by Ilya Buziuk (JIRA)
Ilya Buziuk commented on JBIDE-16931:
-------------------------------------
< doesn't the CS use a embedded server to serve its content ? how else do you navigate the workspace content ?
Yep, that's right. We create a server with a bunch of handlers for any occasion - [ServerCreator|https://github.com/jbosstools/jbosstools-aerogear/blob/mast...]. So we can host any folder in the file system.
<eclipse linked folders can be more than that
Didn't know that. Could you give a for instance?
I have partly implemented linked folder support - [JBIDE-16931|https://github.com/ibuziuk/jbosstools-aerogear/compare/JBIDE-...], but I can't find a solution to one problem. Mapping folder's name to location works only for for urls like _/*linked_folder_name*/index.html_, but not for _/sub_folder/*linked_folder_name*/index.html_. The problem is that reg ex / wildcards can't be used for servlet's url-pattern. Seems to be a dead-end with my idea :-(
<Seems easier to just run the CS serving side inside eclipse and let CS connect to it?
Do yo mean moving server in cordovasim.eclipse and passing port as a parameter?
