To try it locally:
* Build jbdevstudio-product once, with "mvn clean install" (~1 hour)
* Then make the necessary changes to site/com.jboss.devstudio.core.p2.inf
* Build the site/ module with just "mvn install" (~5 minutes)
* Add the output site file:.../jbdevstudio-product/site/target/repository to available sites of your JBDS 8.0.0.Beta2
* Try "Check for Updates" and hope you see the branded product listed as updatable.
